Expert staff ghost data in time trials?

it says in order to get the expert staff ghost data in Mushroom Gorge, the normal time is 02:16:110 and the time that you have to get in order to get the expert staff is 02:07:755. i got 02:06:276. so where is my expert staff ghost? i looked it up to see how you know if you got one and it says that in the bottom right corner it will say "A Expert Staff Ghost Data Has Appeared" but i didnt see that in the corner. am i looking in the right place? because i was looking at the screen when the race ended. does anyone know?
